privacy policy

what i do with your information

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Short version: I'm one person with a website. I'm not selling your data, I'm not building a profile on you, and I collect as little as I can get away with.

What I collect

If you email me: I get your email address and whatever you wrote. I keep it in my inbox like a normal person keeps email.

If you join my email list: I collect the email address you give me, and your first name if you provide it. My email provider also records standard things like whether you opened a message or clicked a link.

Automatically: My web host records basic technical information when you visit, which typically includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you looked at, and the site you came from. This is standard for every website on the internet.

I do not collect payment information on this site. There's nothing to buy here. If you buy something from one of the businesses I link to, that transaction happens on their site under their privacy policy, not mine.

What I don't collect

Why I collect it

Email lists and how to leave

You only get email from me if you signed up for it. Every email I send includes an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also just email me and say take me off, and I'll do it.

I don't add people to my list because they emailed me once, bought something, or followed me somewhere. Signing up has to be a thing you chose to do.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your information. I don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers.

I do use ordinary service providers to run the site, and they process data on my behalf. That typically includes a web host, an email marketing platform, and possibly basic analytics. Each of those has its own privacy policy. I'd share information with law enforcement only if I were legally required to.

Links to other sites

This site links out to other businesses, including ones I have a financial relationship with. Once you click through, you're on their site under their rules. I'm not responsible for what they collect or how they handle it, so read their policies if that matters to you.

Cookies

This site uses only what's necessary to function, plus any cookies set by services I use for analytics or email. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some things may work oddly if you do.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or opt out of marketing. In the United States, state laws like the CCPA give California residents specific rights. In Canada, PIPEDA gives you similar rights. In the UK and EU, the GDPR does.

Honestly, you don't need to invoke a statute. Email me and ask, and I'll handle it.

To make a request: email holli@thedigitalrebuild.com and tell me what you want done. I'll respond within 30 days.

Where your data goes

I'm based in the United States, and the services I use are generally US based. If you're visiting from Canada, the UK, the EU, or anywhere else, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws differ from your own.

How long I keep things

Email conversations stay in my inbox unless you ask me to delete them. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a limited period by my host under their standard retention.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect what I hold, but no website is perfectly secure, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. Please don't email me anything sensitive.

Changes

If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top. If it's a significant change and you're on my list, I'll tell you directly.
